"Returned it? Where? The video shop, Tommy? The fucking video shop? So every punter in Edinburgh is jerking off to our video?"
I’ve watched Trainspotting at least five times, and the scene where Lizzy screams at Tommy is absolutely legendary. She thinks Tommy accidentally returned their naughty video to the video shop, and they have a huge fight, eventually breaking up. And Tommy... well, after that... (no spoilers).
But sometimes I wonder—constantly posting every moment of our lives on Instagram and seeking others' approval—isn’t that like returning our lives to just any video shop?
Jambo was created with the freedom from the gaze in mind. I hope the people who find this space gain peace, far from the video shop!
