Hi, Jambo friends!
I wanted to share a little tip with you on how to check if someone might be a scammer.
(Itโs not 100% foolproof, but it can help filter out quite a few.)
Jambo has a Nearby tab that you can use, but only if location permissions are enabled.
This feature lets you see the last location the other person sent.
(And guess what? Scammers are often connected from somewhere far from US.)
So, if you ever feel suspicious about someone youโre chatting with, politely ask them to turn on their location in the Nearby tab.
At the very least, you can confirm where theyโre connecting from.
Meeting strangers online can be exciting but also a little risky.
I hope this simple safety tip helps you stay safe!
(Meanwhile, weโll keep improving our algorithms to detect scammers.)

We've noticed a few scammers pretending to be billionaires and even faking their gender identities to pull off romance scams.
Starting now, we're taking action to deal with these sneaky troublemakers.
We promise to track them down and make sure theyโre gone for good. (And if you come across a scammer, please use the block and report features!)
And as for you scammers: listen up. Weโll do whatever it takes to find you and kick you out. We already know where youโre causing trouble from, so consider this a warning.
